Private Small Group Course Available - Call to Book 813-789-0904 - The Backpacking 101 2 Part Workshop will give you the BASIC Introduction to Backpacking. This is a 2 day class. Part 1 will be group-based, hands-on instruction located at Not a Clue Adventures, near Dade City, Florida. We will review equipment, Leave No Trace, where and how to backpack, and more. Following lunch*, we will load up packs and take a short intro hike on a nearby trail and plan the hike for the following weekend.
Part 2 hike will include an overnight stay and prepare you with the hands-on skills you will need to begin planning your own trips.
Cost $125 per person - 2-person minimum
What we will cover:
Planning Tips, Gear Review, Choosing your meals, Understanding your fitness level, Understanding the basic skills needed, Review Gear Lists, Basic First Aid Kits, Organizing your backpack, and Leave No Trace Principles.
After lunch we will pack up the equipment we bring to demo and take a short hike.
Please bring a refillable drink container. Wear closed toes comfortable (not new) shoes. Bug repellent and sun block, rain poncho should be brought as well.
Ages 12 and above – must be accompanied by a paying parent/guardian.
