Our Guides have a passion for the outdoors only surpassed by their love of sharing years of acquired skills.

This group of experienced guides volunteers their time to help keep our prices down so that we can reach more individuals.

Lead Guide Jeanene Arrington Fisher

Lead Guide and Owner – Jeanene Arrington-Fisher

Location: Kathleen, Florida

Founder, Lead Guide and Owner of Not a Clue Adventures Leading volunteer guides and providing outdoor skills training, guided outdoor and concierge adventures in Central Florida including, but not limited to, Camping, Hiking, Backpacking, Kayaking and Fishing. Built relationships with the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) and the Florida State Parks, Extreme Outdoor and Back2Basics Outdoor Ministry.

She recently completed certification as a Level 2 Trip Leader

with ACA (American Canoe Association). Completed training to lead classes in Project Wild, Project Learning Tree, Project Wet, and Flying Wild. Jeanene is also looking forward to completing the Florida Master Naturalist Program.

Certified HuntMaster, Hunting Safety Instructor and Archery Safety Instructor under the FWC Hunting Program.

SafeStaff food-handler safety trained by Florida Restaurant & Lodging

Assoc. CPR and Basic First Aid certified. Certified Leave No Trace Instructor

(eager to achieve Master Educator – seeking sponsorship for training).

Guide Marlene Beck

Marlene Ortiz Beck, Clearwater, Florida

One of our longest volunteering guides started out at a first time camper with us a lifetime ago. Not only is she an experienced camper and backpacker, but she also just purchased her first kayak and is really learning the ropes. You will see Marlene on many of our overnight outings in the fall months. In addition to volunteering for local adventures Marlene also joins us for hiking trips to Georgia and Tennessee. Guide Melanie Joy

Melanie Joy, New Port Richey, Florida

Melanie is a “beast” of a hiker. She is the leader of the FB group Long Hikes and Overnights. Once she caught the hiking bug that was it… now you have to be in shape to keep up with her on the trail! Melanie enjoys camping, hiking, & backpacking and is often seen volunteering at one of our outings eager to share her passion for outdoor activities. She will inspire you!

Melanie was a professional educator teaching middle school, high risk youth, for many years, and has also taken training in Project Wet, Project Wild, Flying Wild, Project Learning Tree to work with pre k thru 8th grade teachers to bring outdoor education into the classroom. Guide Susan Perry

Susan Perry, Orlando, Florida


Susan loves the water (rumor has it she is really a mermaid). When it comes to fishing and kayaking she is in her happy place. She has been a volunteer with us for a couple years and loves sharing conversations at the campfire with other like-minded folks.

Susan really brings the smiles when she is volunteering. Susan helps guide both land and river adventures. Child Safety Trained

Guide Deborah Highsmith

Deborah Highsmith, Wildwood, Florida


Deborah has been volunteering with us for over 10 years. She is a Master Naturalist, loves the outdoors and an AMAZING cook. When she is not traveling in her RV with her husband and cat Jax you can find her tent camping, hiking and kayaking.

Deborah sees things that need done before anyone else typically and keeps camp running smooth. CPR/First Aid Certified, Child Safety Trained!

Guide Tracy Hauserman

Tracy Hauserman, Tavares, Florida


Tracy is a teacher at heart. She comes to us with an extensive background in land management as a ranger and adding to that being an Advanced Master Naturalist if you have a question about the natural world she will be able to answer it or send you where you will find the answer.

Tracy is an avid outdoors woman who enjoys camping, kayaking, and hunting to name just a few of her passions! CPR/First Aid Certified, Child Safety Trained!

Guide Sandi Laxdal

Sandie Laxdal, Homosassa, Florida


Sandie was introduced to kayaking by Not a Clue Adventures and has not stopped since. She credits kayaking “to restoring her soul”. She lives on the Chassahowitzka River and enjoys photographing and exploring the backwaters of the Chaz.

Sandra loves sharing her passion about the Chaz too. She is a founding member of the Friends of the Chasshowitzka River, a grassroots organization, dedicated to protecting the Chasshowitzka River. Sandi is our “go to” guide for anything on the “Chaz”

Guide Erika White

Erika White, Stuart, Florida


Erika is one of those persons that define the word “kind”. She is self employed as a life coach, yoga instructor and a level 2 archery instructor. She actively teaches archery near her home in Stuart, Florida, Volunteers at the FWC “Becoming an Outdoors Woman” events. She is currently pursuing her ACA certifications for water rescue, trip leadership and safe paddling. You may see Erika volunteering at our Pre-Holiday Escape Campout in December or volunteering on a kayak trip with us.

Erika is CPR Certified, Red Cross Small Craft Safety Instructor, Outdoor trainer for Girl Scouts, a former Red Cross certified Life Guard, and a Leave No Trace Instructor, Child Safety Trained

Guide Lisa Strout

Lisa Strout, Tampa, Florida


Lisa has a full bag of outdoor skills! Her high stress job with the DOT demands that she is able to recover in the outdoors and she knows how! Lisa is an experienced hunter. She is an experienced alligator, turkey, deer, hog and python hunter. She has excellent boating skills, love to fish, enjoys kayaking, camping, throwing hatchets and her whip. In her free time you will find her volunteering as a Hunter Safety Instructor or at a Becoming an Outdoors Woman event put on by the FWC.

Lisa also leads a Ladies Trapper Training for the Florida Trappers Association. We are honored to have her as one of our volunteer guides! CPR/First Aid Certified, Child Safety Trained!

Guides Trish and Greg

Trish and Greg Mikkelson, Merritt Island, Florida


Retired and free to explore. When they are not traveling with or to see their grandkids, teaching at a Becoming an Outdoors Woman event or participating in an 1800’s re-enactment, we get to enjoy their company as volunteers. Greg is very experienced in map and compass skills, kayaking, camping, and so much more.

Trish is an amazing primitive chef cooking instructor, rock painter, children’s instructor, kayaker and a long time friend. When we can put together bio-luminescence kayak trips on the East Coast we have them take the lead.

Greg and Trish also enjoy taking the time to volunteer and join us for larger group camping adventures and primitive cooking demonstrations at locations in Central Florida. Child Safety Trained

Guide Julia Wright

Julia Wright, Thonotosassa, Florida


Julia graduated from HCC in Tampa with a degree in hospitality while working full time at a large hotel chain in downtown Tampa. In her spare time she loves being out on her air boat, fishing and hunting.

Julia is a skilled outdoors woman and has been volunteering with Not a Clue Adventures since 2012. Her wonderful customer service skills are an asset to the team!

We are always looking for qualified volunteers to add to our guides for our group events. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering weekdays or weekends through out the fall, winter and spring months in exchange for free camping, meals, discounted outings.
