Project Wild

Project WILD’s mission is to provide wildlife-based conservation and environmental education that fosters responsible actions toward wildlife and related natural resources. All curriculum materials are backed by sound educational practices and theory, and represent the work of many professionals within the fields of education and natural resource management from across the country. Aquatic Wild

Water in all its forms is one of the most dramatic of today’s arenas in which informed, responsible, and constructive actions are needed. Aquatic WILD uses the simple, successful format of Project WILD activities and professional training workshops but with an emphasis on aquatic wildlife and aquatic ecology. Flying Wild

Through activities involving language arts, social science and math experiences, coupled with community outreach and service learning applications, Flying WILD offers a whole-school approach to environmental education using birds as the focus. Targeted for the middle-school audience, though widely adaptable, Flying WILD offers practical hands-on classroom and outdoor field investigation experiences connecting real-world experiences in bird biology, conservation, and natural history. https://www.fishwildlife.org/projectwild/flying-wild

Project Wet

Launched in North Dakota in 1984, Project WET has developed a nationwide network of organizations and individuals dedicated to providing world-class water education to people of all ages. Our USA Network includes state agencies, municipal utilities, zoos and aquariums, faith-based organizations, colleges and universities and many other organizations with an interest in water and education throughout all 50 states. https://www.projectwet.org/

Project Learning Tree

By teaching students how to think, not what to think, about complex environmental issues, PLT is helping young people learn the problem-solving skills they need to make informed choices about the environment. We are also helping to prepare a 21st century workforce faced with increasingly complex environmental issues, like climate change and energy. https://www.plt.org/

We have a number of different topics that have been developed in house as well! We can come in an share with your students including but not limited to:

Nature Journaling

This class introduces students to the basic skills and outlines for starting their own Nature Journal. In there journal they will have a place to log their thoughts and observations of the natural world. These skills are a hit with Language Arts Teachers. 

Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops

This class covers the 7 ethics of recreating responsibly outdoors. Certificate offered for 1-2 hour class (teaching individual responsibility)

Florida Native Animals

Through the use of a variety of skulls and furs (or stuffed animals for the young students)and other animal artifacts, we offer a variety of options for a fun, hands on class to teach students more about the wildlife they may encounter while exploring the outdoors.

Introduction to Florida State Parks

What you can learn from visiting our state parks – History comes alive! This class works best with multiple visits. 1st visit – an intro to the parks, planning a visit, slide show of parks, assign students as individuals or in groups to choose a park and do a report or presentation on. 2nd visit – review assigned projects and share what youth have learned about park they were assigned to present on.

Introduction to our National Park Service and Adventures Outside of Florida

Bird Watching 101

Birdwatching has become one of the most practiced past times in the United States for a reason. First, it brings people closer to nature and for the most part it can be an affordable hobby; second, it can be practiced almost anywhere.

Introduction to Geocaching, Map Reading

Geocaching, like orienteering, develops map reading and navigational skills, only with one sole location rather than a sequence of control points.

Youth Safety in the Outdoors

How to be safe when not at home - Youth will learn many safety tips that will keep them safe when in the outdoors.
